< how it began >
The birth of 426: from problem solving to foundation
Our journey began in 2013 when entrepreneur Hannes Vaia wanted to digitize processes for his family business. However, the transition to a digital B2B store proved to be too much of a challenge for some development companies, which is why Daniel Hanspeter, who was working as a freelance software engineer at that time, was recommended to him. During their collaboration, the two recognized the huge market potential of such software solutions and founded their own company, 426, in 2016.
426 quickly became a highly sought-after software development company that supports well-known brands such as Pur Südtirol, Sportler, Salewa and Dynafit of the Oberalp Group and works with international clients such as Bauer Media Group (publisher of Cosmopolitan and Happinez), Serto, Stulz AG and Wegmann Automotiv.

From startup to technical partner for international brands
In 2016, the year our company was founded, we also developed our in-house middleware software YUB (now called 426Connect), a flexible interface tool, in reaction to the growing challenges of the digital market.
The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated digitalization enormously: in 2020 alone, our software developers implemented over 70 online shops in South Tyrol.

The name says it all: the meaning of the number 426
Our programming company “426” has deliberately named itself after the HTTP status code “426 Upgrade Required” from computer jargon, which is intended to indicate that an upgrade is required in order to move forward - in keeping with our motto “Your Digital Upgrade”.
426 is more than just a number - it's our philosophy. Behind this number is a dedicated team of over 50 specialized employees with the aim of offering our customers exactly this digital upgrade.
