Future-Proof B2B Commerce: Upgrading a SAP-Integrated OXID Shop to OXID 7

Alongside the continuous development of the existing SAP-integrated B2B commerce platform, ALD Vacuum Technologies recently focused on the technical modernization of its online shop.
The B2B shop, originally based on OXID eShop 5, no longer met the increasing requirements for security, performance, and maintainability. The project's objective was therefore to migrate to the latest OXID version and establish a future-proof technological foundation.
As part of the project, the shop was migrated to OXID eShop 7.5 and upgraded to PHP 8.5. In addition, several custom extensions were adapted to ensure that existing business processes continued to run seamlessly within the new system architecture.
The SAP integration and the proven functionality for digital spare parts sales were fully retained. Today, ALD benefits from a more modern, secure, and high-performance platform that is well prepared to support future growth and further development.
